| 47417 | Sun Fire[TM] 12K/15K: Command pool timeout dstop after installing 2222A SCSI PCI cards | 23 Oct 2002 |
| Status | Issued |
| Description |
Sun Fire[TM] 15K Servers with newly installed 2222A SCSI PCI Adapter cards ("Cauldron" cards) may not be able to boot Solaris[TM] 8 10/01 (Update 6). As a result, "Dstop" errors could be encountered which would prevent the SF15K domain from booting.

DARB C1: other darb req Dstop+Rstop for exps[17:0]: 00001 SOLUTION SUMMARY:
Explanation:
The adapter card, a Dual FastEthernet + Dual SCSI PCI Adapter card, causes the dstop to occur upon boot up at the stage where the driver for the card is getting initialized. The reason for the failure is that the driver needed for the card to be operational is not included in the Solaris 8 10/01 software. Therefore, before installing the software, or as a part of the jumpstart image itself, patch
