NAME
     abort  -  generate an IOT fault

SYNOPSIS
     abort()

DESCRIPTION
     Abort executes the IOT instruction.  This is usually consid-
     ered a program fault by the system and results  in  termina-
     tion  with a core dump.  It is used to generate a core image
     for debugging.
