1.2.2.9.3 Requesting More Information about a Message



To request more information than that provided in the text of a TRANSMIT, RECEIVE, MVSSERV, or VSBASIC error message, use the MSGID operand of the HELP command with the message ID enclosed in parentheses.

   If messages on your terminal do not display a message ID, see "Changing 
   Your User Profile with the PROFILE Command" in topic 4.1.1 to read about 
   changing your profile to display message IDs.

   Note:  You cannot use the FUNCTION, SYNTAX, OPERANDS, or ALL operands with 
          MSGID.
