1996 - Present Silicon Graphics Inc MTS III. Part of the Advanced Digital Media group. Owner of the audio hardware and software for the audio sub-systems on the high-end Origin and Onyx2 computer systems. Lead hardware engineer for the HD-IO product for Origin and Onyx2 systems. This product has won 3 awards so far.
1984 - 1996 Graham Patten Systems Senior Design Engineer. One of six engineers at this small company. Worked with this team to bring seven products from concept to shipping. Covered most aspects of product design, including wideband analog design (video), embedded system design, embedded systems software, user interface design, mechanical design, even PCB Layout. Won an Emmy for the D/ESAM Digital Audio Mixer.
1982 Cal Poly Computer Department Repair Tech. Repair terminals and printers around campus.
Summer 1982 Chuck' E Cheese Corporate R&D Designed "Cheese E. Street", an amusement center inside the stores. Oversaw five contractors. Built the prototype at Koozer Road store. Included a 3 level maze, facade with neon signs, slides, barrels, sound effects and special lighting. Covered 1000 sqft.
1979-1980 Atco Manufacturing Lab Tech. Maintained stock of lab animals, hamsters, rats, mice and turtles. Built prototype animal watering systems (filters, pumps, proportioned, heaters) for pigs and small animals.
1978-1979 Smith Brothers Electronics Retail Electronics store. Installed car stereos, automotive air conditioning systems, television set delivery and antenna installation. In home TV repair. Some sales.
1975-1978 KVON TV6 Small local TV station. Produced TV shows both in studio and on location with a remote truck. Production, post production, engineering, lighting, technical director, tape and film operator, master control operator, camera operator were among my responsibilities there (and I was under 20).

BSEL from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, in 1983
(a BSEL from Cal Poly is the electronics degree (milliamps). The BSEE is the electrical degree (mega watts).
