Q: Why does the AMI EISA Configuration Utility report that the overlay file
   for my AHA-274X is not compatible?
A: When configuring the AHA-274x host adapter in a system using an AMI ECU,
   the version of the ECU must be v2.01 or later.  This version of the
   utility will support the standard ADP7770.OVL overlay file.  To obtain
   this utility, call AMI at (404)246-8645.

Q: I am running a AHA-2742T and when I load ASPI7DOS.SYS, the system hangs.
A: If channel B is set as the primary channel and you are booting from the
   hard disk at target ID 0, then this problem will occur.  Update the
   ASPI7DOS.SYS driver, by downloading the file UPGRADE.EXE from our BBS at
   (408) 945-7727.

Q: My AHA-274x adapter has a problem with EDGE triggering.  What do I do?
A: Download ASWC274.EXE from our BBS at (408) 945-7727 which includes the
   updated !ADP7771.cfg and ADP7770.OVL files.  The updated files will
   provide support for level and edge triggering.

Q: How many devices can I have on the AHA-274x host adapter?
A: The AHA-274xT can support up to fourteen (14) SCSI devices, seven on each
   channel.  The AHA- 274xW can support up to fifteen (15) SCSI devices.

Q: When installing any version of Netware. why is it necessary to disable
   extended translation?
A: Some operating systems such as USL, UNIX, and Netware do not currently
   support extended translation.  Enabling this option under Netware and
   UNIX can cause bad reads and writes.  If this option is enabled, use the
   following Translation Schemes:

   1. For a hard disk less than one gigabyte, use a translation scheme of
      64 heads, 32 sectors per track.
   2. For a hard disk between 1 and 785 gigabytes, use a translation scheme
      of 255 heads, 63 sectors per track.

Q: When loading AIC7770.DSK, NetWare reports "Unable to find loader $ public
   symbol."
A: Ensure the appropriate driver is loading for supported versions of
   NetWare.  NetWare v2.x and v3.10 are not supported.  Novell v3.11
   requires AIC7770.DSK v1.0x.  Novell v4.0 requires AIC7770.DSK v2.0x.

Q: I have problems with the 274xT under Novell v3.1x and v4.0x?
A: Run the EISA configuration program, disable greater than 1 gigabyte
   support, and disable support for more than two drives.  LOAD AIC7770.DSK
   slot=x (where x is the slot number).

Q: How many CD-ROMs can I install on my AHA-274xT using Netware?
A: ASPICD.DSK only supports seven (7) CD-ROMs. CDNASPI.DSK supports up to
   fourteen (14) CDROMs.

Q: Does the AHA-2742 support OS/2 v1.3?
A: There is a beta version driver for the AHA-2742, the file name is
   27OS13.EXE on the Adaptec BBS.

Q: I am installing an AHA-2742 under SCO UNIX with a SCSI tape drive using
   SCSI ID 3. What are the correct parameter settings during the mkdev tape
   process?
A: The host adapter prefix is arad.  The host adapter number is 0, the
   target ID is 3, and the LUN is 0.

Q: Where do I obtain the SCO UNIX v3.2.4 drivers for the AHA-2742?
A: The drivers are in the 7700 Family Manager Set for SCO UNIXWARE.  To
