Q: Can The AVA-2825 support SCSI Hard Drives larger than 1 Gigabyte?
A: Yes, By enabling the "Extended Bios Translation for DOS drives >1 gig"
   option in SCSISelect and perform a low-level format on your Hard drive.

Q: Can I change the I/O port address on the AVA-2825?
A: You can change the SCSI I/O port address from 340-35F to 140-15F.
   However, the EIDE I/O port address are hard coded at 1F0 - 1F7 and cannot
   be changed.

Q: Where can I get the drivers for Novell, Unix, OS/2 and Window NT?
A: The AVA-2825 only supports DOS and Windows.

Q: What is the FLEXI-driver used for?  Do I need it?
A: Flexi-driver is a device driver that allows you to easily use standard
   IDE or higher performance EIDE drives with your AVA-2825 host adapter.
   The FLEX-driver provides 32 bit-disk accessing in Windows for both IDE
   and EIDE drives.  For EIDE drives, FLEXI-driver automatically detects
   the drive's data transfer rates and configures data transfer between the
   computer and the drive according to this rate.
 
Q: Can I use a SyQuest Removable IDE drive with the AVA-2825?
A: Syquest Removable IDE drives are currently not supported.

Q: When Windows is started I get an "Insufficient Memory" error and the
   system returns to a DOS prompt.
A: Re-install FLEXI-driver.

Q: When using my Quantum LPS540 AT drive with Ontrack's Disk Manager, I get
   an error message stating, "The Appian Windows 32-bit disk driver
   (AD12W102) validation failed at phase 07, 13.  To continue starting
   Windows without using 32-bit disk driver, press any key."
A: Update your Ontrack Disk Manager software to 6.03. Contact Adaptec Tech
   Support to get the latest drivers.

Q: When both Ontrack's Disk Manager and FLEXI-driver are installed, Windows
   does not run.
A: Remove ontrackw.386 from the [enh] section of system.ini file which may
   be found in the Windows sub-directory.

Q: When turbo mode is disabled on my system and I try to load the
   FLEXI-driver, the system hangs.
A: Be sure turbo mode is enabled upon boot-up before loading Flexi-driver.

Q: How can I break the 528MB barrier for IDE drives?
A: You have to use Adaptec OnTrack Disk Manager to partition your drive to
   use the extra disk space. Do not use the disk manager that comes with
   your hard drive and disable the motherboard BIOS support for hard drives
   that are larger than 528MB.  If you don't have Adaptec OnTrack Disk
   Manager, call Adaptec Technical Support.

Q: Can I use the motherboard BIOS (LBA) support for IDE hard drives larger
   than 528MB?
A: No, please disable the motherboard BIOS (LBA) support for drive larger
   than 528MB.

Q: Why can't I save any options in advance configuration option?  Why can't
   I save extended bios translation?
A: Your AVA 2825 BIOS has to be version 1.03 or later.  Contact Adaptec
   Technical Support to get a BIOS upgrade.
